Welcome to Absalon Hotel, one of Copenhagen’s oldest family owned hotels. The hotel was founded in 1938 with only 11 rooms. Much has happened since then, completely renovated in 2015 the hotel has 161 modern and classic rooms and suites. At the reception we help with everything – from bandages, a map of the city, restaurant reservations to unusual ways of seeing Copenhagen.
If you are in Copenhagen during the months of November and December, do not miss Tivoli's Christmas market, sweets, decorations, lights and entertainment for kids and grownups.
True to tradition, the whole of Tivoli will be decorated for the season with spruce and myriads of fairy lights, and in addition to the Tivoli Illuminations over the Lake, Tivoli’s new light show can be experienced in the Chinese area under the Demon roller coaster.
The lights, the stalls, and the Christmas music permeating the park together creates the unique Tivoli Christmas atmosphere. The three separate light shows last for about five minutes each, and can be experienced multiple times over the course of an evening.
Visitors can still enjoy Tivoli’s other cultural Christmas traditions, from the Pixie Band playing at various points around the Gardens, through the big Lucia procession with a hundred-strong choir, to the daily Tivoli illuminations and the fireworks festival running from 25 to 27 December and again from 31 December to 3 January.
