To help provide some certainty for our customers’ travel arrangements over the Christmas period, we can now confirm we will be cancelling all flights to and from Sharm el Sheikh until 06thJanuary 2016.
Customers on affected flights will have three options: To fly to another destination within the easyJet network, Receive a full refund of the flights booked with us or Arrange a flight voucher with us that can be used for future flights
(Luton, UK – 18 November 2015) In line with recent advice from the Department for Transport (DfT), Monarch has implemented a temporary suspension of flights from the UK to Sharm El Sheikh and flights up to and including Saturday, 19 December 2015 have been cancelled. Customers who are affected by these cancellations are entitled to change a booking to a later date or rebook to another destination on the Monarch network. Customers can also request a credit note towards future travel or a refund.
Thomas Cook has cancelled its flight and holiday programme to Sharm el Sheikh up to and including Thursday 10 December. Thomas Cook is offering customers due to travel up to and including this date the opportunity to cancel or re-book their holiday free of charge, offering a £25 discount per person on the alternative holiday booked. Customers booked up to and including Wednesday 16 December 2015 will be offered a free amendment to their holiday.
Booking conditions remain as normal for travel after Wednesday 16 December 2015, pending further FCO advice. Any customers wishing to amend or cancel their booking, should visit their local Thomas Cook or The Co-operative Travel store or call our dedicated customer hotline.
As a result of Foreign and Commonwealth (FCO) advice, Thomson Airways can confirm the cancellation of further outbound flights from the UK to Sharm el-Sheikh, up to and including Wednesday 9th December 2015.
All customers booked to travel to Sharm el-Sheikh in this period will be provided with a full refund or can amend to any holiday currently on sale. If the new holiday is taken before the end of April 2016 we are also offering a £30 per person discount.
Customers travelling to Sharm el-Sheikh up to and including 31st December 2015 will be able to amend their booking to any holiday departing by the end of April 2016, without incurring an amendment fee.
Red Sea Holidays
The resort of Sharm el Sheikh remains peaceful and the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) for the resort itself has not changed. However, the FCO has temporarily recommended against unnecessary travel by air to and from Sharm el Sheikh.

The FCO is working with the Egyptian authorities to enable regular flights between the UK and Sharm el Sheikh to resume as soon as possible, and flights departing after these dates are currently planned go ahead as normal.
Guests who were due to travel to Sharm el Sheikh up to and including Wednesday, 09 December 2015 (Thomson Airways) or Thursday, 10 December 2015 (Thoms Cook Airlines) will be offered an alternative holiday or a full refund of their holiday price.
Guests travelling to Sharm el Sheikh from Thursday, 10 December to Wednesday, 16 December 2015 inclusive will be able to amend their booking free of charge to any holiday departing by the end of April 2016.
In each case above, we will be contact guests directly or via their travel agent to advise the options that are available to them.
