Royal Albatros Moderna Review
Opened in 2004 and fully renovated in 2011, the 5-star resort has a dream location on the golden sandy beach on the new hotel zone of Nabq Bay, facing coral reefs in the crystal clear waters of the Red Sea, and the shipwrecks of the nearby Straits of Tiran. The main building and the attached two-storey building are surrounded by resplendent gardens extending down to the beach. This elegant all inclusive resort is only 12 km from Sharm El Sheikh Airport, and 20 km from the famous Naama-Bay. Whether you’re celebrating an anniversary or honeymoon, planning a family vacation in Sharm El Sheikh or just wanting to get away from it all, Royal Albatros Moderna is the perfect place for all ages and interests.

  • The snorkelling here is a must – there are coral reefs right outside the hotel, and the shipwrecks in the nearby Straits of Tiran are ripe for exploring.
  • There are organised daytime activities, which include lively games of volleyball and beach football. For a small fee, you can also have a knockabout on the tennis courts.
• Health & Beauty
  • There are cardio machines in the fitness room, and for a bit extra, you can use the steam, sauna and whirlpool in the health club. Here you can also book a massage or body treatment.
  • You can book massages, for a fee. For something a bit different, try a Moroccan bath with revitalising black mud, or a Turkish bath using black soap, which they say is great for the skin.
• Entertainment
  • The Irish pub opens late and is known for its karaoke sessions. There’s also a terrace café serving cocktails. And the hotel lays on entertainment – you’ll see live Egyptian music and dance. Kids’ club (The hotel runs the club for 4-12 year-olds.). Evening entertainment (With low-key Egyptian acts and live shows.)
• Pools
  • As well as the water park, there are 4 more pools here. The main pool is huge, and is where you’ll find the water polo and aqua aerobics. It’s got its own bar – as has the relaxation pool.

Dining

There are 4 buffet restaurants here, or you can take your pick from the à la cartes. There are 2 – one Oriental and one that serves up Thai and sushi.

Bars

Dotted throughout the hotel you’ll find 6 cafés and bars, including a traditional-style coffee shop with shisha pipes, and another that serves fresh crêpes and donuts at teatime.
