Cavo Spada Luxury Sports & Leisure Resort is located on a Blue Flag beach in a quiet fishing village, Kolymbari and is the perfect setting for guests seeking a peaceful escape. Despite tourism flourishing over the last few years, even now, the area is naturally unspoilt and surrounded by local farmers & fishermen producing local olive oil, honey & wine.

Facilities include an outdoor pool, a kids’ pool, a gym and a spa with a heated indoor pool, a sauna and a hammam. Rooms are open-plan with a living area, and have private furnished terraces offering direct access to a shared swimming pool.

Meals are served in the Arsenali buffet restaurant, and there are also two bars. Twice per week, guests can have lunch at the Sea Line Beach Tavern, and once per week, guests can have dinner in the à la carte Italian Azzuro restaurant (drinks not included).

Chania, Crete’s second-largest city, is half an hour’s drive away, and has a pretty Venetian quarter and an old town that leads down to a harbour. The sublime Cavo Spada Luxury Resort and Spa, covers an area of 65000m2 of private property, the full length of which is on a Blue Flag beach showcasing the natural beauty and tranquillity of the Cretan Archipelagos. Magnificent views to the Gulf of Chania and Cape Spada, after which the hotel was named, can be seen from the hotel.

Soak up the sun at the 1700-square-metre main lagoon-form outdoor pool of the 5-star Giannoulis — Cavo Spada Luxury Sports & Leisure Resort & Spa, or take a dip in the heated indoor pool at the spa that has a hammam, a Jacuzzi, and a sauna (entrance fee applies), and offers a wide range of massage and beauty therapies for an extra charge.

You can work out in the large gym, or join yoga, Pilates, spinning (for a fee), or Zumba classes. Cycling and horse-riding excursions, snorkelling, and diving tours are also available (fees apply). The entertainment programme includes Greek cooking classes (Tuesdays), and wine and olive oil tastings (Fridays and Wednesdays).

Buffet breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served at the Arsenali Main Restaurant, indoors or al fresco. As part of your all-inclusive package, you can take two lunches per week at the Sea Line Beach Tavern (Greek and Mediterranean), and one dinner at the à la carte Azzuro Restaurant (Italian; drinks are chargeable) — reservations are required for both venues. Soft drinks, beer and wine, select cocktails, and liquors are available from the Pool Bar or the Main Bar. The in-room mini bar is refilled daily with bottled water.

You’ll stay in a soundproofed Superior Deluxe Double Room that shares a semi-private pool with a few other rooms in a quiet area of the resort. Space and privacy are guaranteed as you lounge on your furnished swim-up terrace with views over gardens. The room comes with tea- and coffee-making facilities, and Wi-Fi is free throughout.

The charming taverns and fishing harbour of Kolymvari and the 13th-century Gonia Odigitria monastery, on the hill above the village, are a 5-minute drive or a 30-minute walk along the beach. The enchanting old town of postcard-perfect Chania is just over 25 minutes from the hotel by car — rentals are available at the front desk.

- At Cavo Spada Luxury Resort & Spa our intention is to always enrich the provided entertainment services and facilities. That is the reason of a weekly operational program full of music nights & animation events as well as sports activities, all focusing on both adults and children. Our guests have the chance to get informed of the entire entertainment activities program by asking the guest relation staff and if they wish to attend or participate in any of it, they just need to inform the front desk.
Fitness Room

Dining

The Sea Line Beach Tavern offers primarily Mediterranean and traditional Cretan dishes. Enjoying good food and taking in the fresh sea breeze while sitting outside – ideal for lunch. On occasion, special nights are arranged here. Open 10:00 – 18:00.
The a la carte Azzuro Restaurant with its unique 4 dome ceiling caters for both indoor and outdoor seating (an open terrace with great views) and serves Italian dishes for dinner. Open 19:30 – 23:30.
The thematic a la carte Avra Restaurant offers primarily Mediterranean cuisine. Fusion and Asian cuisine also feature. Open 19:30 – 23:30.

Bars

The Main Bar at Cavo Spada Luxury Resort & Spa is open daily from 18h00 – 01h00. Fine drinks combined with good music make for just the perfect ending to your holiday days. Once a week, live music is provided here for your enjoyment (live orchestra of band varying from jazz, pop, traditional Greek etc). A great setting, sophisticated environment and excellent service – simply adds pleasure to your stay.
The Pool Bar located in the middle of the main swimming pool serves refreshments and snacks (open 10h00- 19h00) while you enjoy your time swimming and sunbathing. Uniquely located above and beside the pool and accessed by a bridge – quite impressive.
